New Coronavirus Infections Exceed 56,000 in Hungary

The number of confirmed people infected with the new coronavirus in Hungary rose by 1,820 in the past 24 hours and now stands at 56,098.

38 people died due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the majority of these patients were elderly and suffered from chronic diseases. thus, the official number of COVID-19 fatalities disclosed by the government is 1,390.

There are 27,859 people i n compulsory home quarantine with 16,007 recovered. The total number of active COVID-19 cases is 38,701 in the country. There are currently 2,245 patients hospitalized with the coronavirus, 205 of whom are on ventilators.
