Number of COVID-19 Fatalities Exceeds 24,000 in Hungary

In the last 24 hours, 285 people died, mostly elderly, chronic patients, so the official number of deaths related to the new coronavirus infection increased to 24,265, the government site koronavirus.gov.hu reports.

By Wednesday morning, 3,597 new infections were identified in Hungary, increasing the number of infected people to a total of 731,675 since the beginning of the epidemic.

The number of recovered people is 435,344 and that of active infected people is 272,066. 10,364 patients with coronavirus are hospitalized, 1,204 of whom are on ventilators. A day earlier, 2,837 new infections had been registered. 272, mostly elderly, chronic patients died. According to government data, a 33-year-old man was the youngest victim. The hospital treated 10,818 people infected with the coronavirus, 1,209 of whom were on a ventilator.

According to the government information page, the number of people vaccinated by Wednesday exceeded three million. 1,290,709 of the 3,037,023 inoculated also received the second vaccination.
