Official figures about the COVID-19 situation in Hungary indicate that the number of confirmed people infected with the coronavirus in the country now stands at 3,990. There are 10,133 people in compulsory home quarantine, 545 persons deceased and 2,279 recovered.
The government's COVID-19 information website says total number of active COVID-19 cases is 1,166. There are currently 387 patients hospitalized with the coronavirus, 21 of those are on ventilators. In the past 24 hours, another three people are said to have died of the coronavirus disease, bringing the official number of COVID-19 fatalities to 545.
During Friday's Operational Group press conference, Chief Medical Officer Cecíla Müller was of the view that the epidemiological situation in Hungary is still favorable. She added that there are three counties where currently there are no infections present, but Budapest is still the most infected area of the country.
