Number of COVID-19 Victims Surpasses 41,000 in Hungary

A further 74 patients died of coronavirus infection, bringing the official death toll in Hungary to 41,018, according to the related government site, which also said that there were 40% more new cases than a week ago.

The 74 fatalities who passed away in the past 24 hours were chronic patients, most of them elderly, the government information portal reported Tuesday morning.

The number of deaths has risen to 41,018, with 9,717 new infections confirmed, bringing the total number of identified infections to 1,451,102 since the start of the epidemic.

The number of cured cases is steadily increasing and currently stands at 1,216,454, while the number of active infected has risen to 193,630. There are 3,115 patients with coronavirus in hospital, 177 of whom are on ventilators.

So far, a total of 6,344,089 people have received the vaccine, of whom 6,082,196 have received the second jab and 3,560,753 have completed the third dose.
