Number of Daily COVID-19 Deaths on the Rise Again

171 patients died in the past 24 hours, bringing the official number of COVID-19 related deaths in Hungary to 6,622.

The new coronavirus infection was detected in another 6,197 Hungarian citizens, increasing the number of infected people in Hungary to 271,200. The number of recovered people is also constantly growing, currently standing at 78,700, the number of active infected people is 185,878.

The related government website finds it important to point out that 19% of the active infected, 21% of the dead, and 23% of the recovered are from Budapest (where 18% of the country's population live). 7,841 coronavirus patients are cared for in a hospital in the country, 610 of them are on a ventilator.

Compared to the recently reported 28,603 test numbers, the rate of new infections was 21.7%. At the beginning of the week, the number of new infections also showed a declining trend for three days, and then on Thursday, the trend reversed with more than five thousand new infections. On Friday, it rose again.
