Official Number of COVID-19 Fatalities Surpass 15,000

Another 84 Hungarians fell victim to the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in the past 24 hours bringing the number of deaths to 15,058.

The new coronavirus infection was detected in another 4,326 Hungarian citizens, thus increasing the number of infected people identified in Hungary to 432,925.

The number of people cured is constantly increasing, currently being at 322,956, but the number of active infected people has also risen to 94,911 people, according to official data.

5,679 coronavirus patients are hospitalized, 537 of whom are on ventilators. So far, 685,247 people have received vaccinations, of which 251,691 people have already received their second jab, the related government website koronavirus.gov.hu says.

According to data released on Monday, 9,757 people were vaccinated against the new coronavirus on Sunday.
