110 new infections have been confirmed in the past 24 hours in Hungary, bringing the total number of identified infections since the start of the epidemic to 812,337 in this country. One patient has died, and thus, the total number of deaths is 30,058, the related government website reports.
The number of recovered patients is steadily increasing and it is currently at 777,445 while the number of active infected persons has decreased to 4.834. 119 patients are hospitalized with the new coronavirus infection, 13 of them are on ventilators.
The National Center for Public Health (NCHR) released the latest sewage data, showing that the epidemic is spreading, with a marked increase in SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus concentrations in several major cities surveyed in week 34. Increases have been observed in the Budapest agglomeration, Tököl, Biatorbágy, Szigetszentmiklós, Budakeszi, Százhalombatta, as well as in Kecskemét, Miskolc, Pécs, Salgótarján and Szombathely.
In several large cities, such as Szeged, Miskolc and Kecskemét, as well as in Budapest, samples were found to have moderate concentrations of coronavirus in wastewater, while 12 cities had low concentrations. The wastewater results show that the number of infected people will continue to rise, which is why the NNK is also urging those who have not yet done so to take advantage of the free vaccination.
