Net revenue of the ornamental horticulture industry in Hungary reached HUF 20.8 billion in 2025, a report by the Institute of Agricultural Economics (AKI) shows.
Nursery production accounted for HUF 13.0 billion of the total and potted plants, plants for planting and bulbs for HUF 6.1 billion. Cut flowers and foliage generated HUF 1.6 billion.
Ornamental horticulture activities were undertaken on 1,487 hectares in Hungary in 2025. Just 72 hectares of that area was covered and heated, and 16 hectares covered.
Hungarian ornamental plants are mainly exported to Germany, Romania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Serbia.
