Over 3,000 New COVID-19 cases in Hungary

The new coronavirus epidemic situation is worsening Hungary again: more infections and more fatalities than in the previous days.

The new coronavirus infection was detected in another 3,068 people in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed infections since the outbreak to 334,836. The last time more than 3,000 new infections was reported in one day was on December 23.

The official number of active infections increased to 144,970. By dawn of Thursday, 127 people had died from the disease. The number of fatalities are rising steadily since Monday. So far, a total of 10,325 people have lost their lives due to complications resulting from the new coronavirus infection.

5,387 patients are treated for the disease in hospital, 259 less than the previous day. Of them, 367 are on ventilators, 29 less than on Wednesday.
