A total of 45,407 new infections have been confirmed in the past three days, bringing the total number of identified infections to 1,553,405 since the beginning of the outbreak, according to the government website koronavirus.gov.hu.
The 176 people who died in the past three days were mostly elderly, chronic patients, bringing the total to 41,405.
The number of cured people is now 1,280,399 and the number of active infected people has risen to 231,601. The latter figure is up by less than six thousand compared to Friday's figures, despite the large number of new infections.
The total number of vaccinated persons is 6,363,112, of whom 6,101,699 have already received their second vaccination and 3,683,719 have already received their confirmatory third vaccination.
According to the information, 3,903 patients with coronavirus are in hospital, 440 more than on Thursday. Of these patients, 150 are on ventilators, compared to 145 last time.
A week ago, during the previous weekend, an average of 13,309 new cases of the virus were registered every day with a daily death toll of 41 people. 2,921 were hospitalized and 176 required invasive ventilation.
