Over 5,000 New Coronavirus Cases Detected in Hungary

Following three days with lower figures reported, the official number of new coronavirus infections has again rosen by close to 5,500 cases: 5,415 such new infections were detected in the past 24 hours.

The number of fatalities is also on the rise. According to the official government website, 171 people have died of coronavirus complications in the last 24 hours, thus, a total of 6,451 people have died due to the epidemic in Hungary, so far.

The official total number of identified infected people had risen to 265,003. The number of people who recovered has also increased, it is currently 77,362 and the number of people currently infected are 181,190.

7,869 coronavirus patients are cared for in hospital, 645 of whom are on ventilators.
