Over a Thousand More New Infections in Hungary

5,270 new infections have been confirmed, 82 patients have died, according to the government website koronavirus.gov.hu. The number of actively infected people has risen to 101,457, an increase of more than a thousand in one day.

The 82 deceased were mostly elderly, chronic patients, bringing the total number of fatalities to 39,599.

3,090 patients with coronavirus are in hospital, 307 of them are on ventilators.

The number of people vaccinated is 6,269,955, of whom 5,990,568 have already had their second vaccination and 3,191,997 have had their confirmatory third vaccination.

The laboratory of the National Center for Public Health, based on the samples tested for variants, found that the omicron mutation is responsible for more than 11% of new infections in our country.

The government portal pointed out that, in addition to health facilities and public transport, masks should continue to be worn in shops, shopping centers, post offices, customer services, theatres, cinemas, museums and sporting events. In indoor cultural and other events, gyms, swimming pools, spas and catering establishments, mask wearing is compulsory for all employees.
