The government has announced that it will lift the remaining restrictions as the fifth wave of the epidemic recedes. From Monday, masks will no longer have to be worn in the previously required confined spaces, so restrictions will be lifted on public transport and in shops, educational and healthcare institutions, according to a government decree published in the Hungarian Gazette.
The government claims that the fifth wave of the epidemic is receding thanks to the successful control and the vaccination of the population, therefore, the remaining restrictions will be lifted.
The obligation to wear masks on public transport, in shops, shopping centers, post offices, customer services, theaters, cinemas, museums and sporting events as well as in educational and healthcare institutions will be lifted from Monday, and employees of catering establishments will no longer be required to wear masks at work.
In addition, any restrictions that made the use of a service in the country subject to the requirement of an immunity card will be lifted. Restrictions on events will be lifted, and there will no longer be any need for a pass for sporting events, cultural events, music and dance events, or outdoor events with more than 500 people.
Restrictions on entry into Hungary will also be lifted.
