Players wore black armbands paying respect - along with spectators - in the the Santiago Bernabeu stadium in Madrid Tuesday night to the memory of Erzsébet Hunyadvári, the widow of legendary Hungarian footballer Ferenc Puskás. She passed away last week.
Before the traditional annual match for the Bernabéu Trophy, the players of Real Madrid, those of the opponents (Galatasaray of Turkey) and the spectators paid respect to the widow of legendary Hungarian footballer Ferenc Puskás of the Hungarian national side (1945-1956) and of Real Madrid (1958-1966).
With the Spanish giants, Puskás won the Spanish league title six times and helped his club win the European Cup three times.
