Budapest Spas cPlc. surpassed all previous records in 2024, with annual net sales of nearly HUF 26.3 billion, up from HUF 23 billion in 2023, and a profit after tax of more than HUF 6.2 billion, compared to HUF 5 billion in the previous year, the company told MTI on Friday.
They stressed that the result is mainly due to the business strategy, the first three-year program of which was launched in 2020. Its key elements were to increase the revenue per guest and to adjust the services of the historic spas to international prices, thus reaching the minimum price level of European historic spas. At the same time, domestic guests have been offered significant discounts for many years through a club card and complex season ticket schemes.
This year, the company aims to maintain profitability by implementing investments, while providing quality service and enhancing the guest experience, the statement said.
According to the release, the company expects to reach approximately four million guests in 2025, 10,000 fewer than last year, but this is mainly due to the impact of the multi-year spa development program. As a result, the revenue forecast for this year may be HUF 237 million lower than in 2024. This year, the company expects a profit after tax of around HUF 4.6 billion, a decrease of HUF 1.6 billion compared to last year.
