Two red panda babies were born in the Sóstó Zoo in Nyíregyháza, NE Hungary. Their parents are a breeding pair, Ting-ting and Sichuan that have been living together for two years in the zoo in the framework of the European conservation program.
The red panda (Ailurus fulgens), also called the lesser panda, the red bear-cat, and the red cat-bear, is a mammal native to the eastern Himalayasand southwestern China. It has reddish-brown fur, a long, shaggy tail, and a waddling gait due to its shorter front legs, and is slightly larger than adomestic cat.
