September 28, 2021

The concentration of coronavirus in wastewater is slowly but steadily increasing in Budapest and several other Hungarian cities, the National Center for Public Health (NNK) said.

According to the NNK, the majority of the cities surveyed show a stagnating trend, with a slight increase in Békéscsaba, Debrecen, Nyíregyháza, Szolnok and a common sample of agglomeration settlements around Budapest (Tököl, Biatorbágy, Szigetszentmiklós, Budakeszi, Százhalombatta). A decrease is observed in Győr and Kaposvár.

Among the sites analysed, 12 samples have concentrations in the low range, while 10 samples are in the moderate range.
