The University of Szeged (SE Hungary) signed a cooperation agreement with Chinese car manufacturer BYD Auto Hungary on Wednesday. The agreement extends to instruction and research and development.
University of Szeged rector László Rovó said the school had made an intensive effort to built up its network of Chinese contacts over the past decade, opening the country's second Confucius Institute, launching Chinese language instruction and starting an exchange program. He added that over 250 Chinese students aere enrolled at the university at present.
He was of the view that the university constantly shapes its instruction to meet the needs of market players, and the agreement with BYD, which is building a plant in Szeged, will support that endeavour, he said.
University of Szeged chancellor Judit Fendler said the agreement would result in internships for students at a global market leader, while providing BYD with a source for recruitment.
BYD Auto Hungary HR manager Zou Yinli said the company's HR department was staffed by University of Szeged graduates whose feedback attested to the high quality of education at the school.
