Between August 20 and 22, 2021, the administration of vaccines will be suspended at national level, as ordered by the National Directorate General of Hospitals. For those who may have received an appointment for these dates, an appointment will be made for the following week.
The news comes after an announcement last week that the government is relaxing the epidemiological rules for the August 20 national celebrations, the European Carriage Driving Championships and the 52nd International Eucharistic Congress in Budapest. According to a government decree published in the Hungarian Official Gazette, these events do not have to comply with the existing epidemiological measures and can be freely visited by anyone without restrictions.
The government decree also applies to state and municipal events organised between August 18 and 22. The European Carriage Driving Championships will take place in Budapest from September 2 to 5, while the International Eucharistic Congress, which will be attended by the Pope briefly, will be held from September 5 to 12 .
