The workshops of the members of the Hungarian Crafts Association opened simultaneously in different parts of the country on the occasion of World Handicraft Day to show the unbelievable richness and diversity of crafts.
The Hungarian Crafts Association prepared a nationwide campaign for World Handicraft Day. The association was founded nearly ten years ago to bring together craftsmen and artisans who strengthen the culture of handicraft in Hungary through their lifelong work. The group brings together more than 70 family-run manufactories. They are constantly working to preserve and conserve the twenty surviving crafts that are known and part of our world heritage.
"The objects come to life when we use them," the president of the association, Kata Szabó said. "It is a joy, creativity and art to create. We want to create something lasting, to make other people's everyday life more colourful, to make it a celebration. When they come to life in homes as gifts, they can make everyday life special. Our association is always working to show the country and the world why the fruits of our labor, our art, is special.
