The Hungarian government has informed the European Commission that the country's new media law is in line with EU norms but the commission expects further and more detailed information on the act
Commission spokesman Olivier Bailly confirmed at a news conference in Brussels on Monday that European Commissioner Neelie Kroes, who is in charge of the digital agenda, had received an answer to her letter in which she raised several concerns about the law before Christmas.
The spokesman said the Hungarian government had stated that the media law fell in line with European standards and promised to provide more detailed information later.
