Next year will be hard as hell for Budapest. The crisis and government cuts will dramatically reduce the capital's revenues by HUF 88 billion, according to Mayor Gergely Karácsony.

In a social media message, the Mayor is of the view that the one for 2021 is the most frugal capital budget in decades. He writes that the savings will start on their own, on the political leadership, but unfortunately even then there will not be enough money to provide all public services to the people of Budapest at the level they deserve, because the crisis and government austerity measures are dramatically reducing the capital's revenues.

Therefore, in 2021, they should provide the same services people in the city from HUF 88 billion less than in 2019, he says.
