Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the Azeri capital of Baku where they both attended the meeting of the Turkic Council, Hungarian state news service MTI reports. Erdogan thanked Hungary for supporting Turkey on the international stage and for opening the first European office of the Turkic Council in Budapest. Since late 2018, Hungary is an observer at the Council and may soon request full membership. The two politicians discussed ways to boost bilateral relations and Orbán stressed he was looking forward to the Hungarian-Turkish intergovernmental summit scheduled to take place in Budapest on November 7.
