Jupiter Mission Tool Parts Manufactured in Hungary

The Hungarian company Admatis Ltd. is among the contributing partners in building the JUICE (JUpiter ICy moons Explorer) spacecraft that is to explore Jupiter and its icy moons.

Compared to the original designs, JUICE receives an additionally designed, analyzed, finished multilayer film made of ADMATIS 'jacket'. The 'jacket' is made of MLI (Multi Layer Insulation) material, the material itself was designed and manufactured by Admatis.

According to current plans, JUICE will depart from South America in 2022 and arrive at Jupiter in 2030, where it will perform measurements for at least three years. The spacecraft first examines the planet's atmosphere, magnetosphere, thin rings and moons from orbit around Jupiter.

After that, and after examining the moons of Europa and Callisto, the largest moon in the Solar System, it will orbit Ganymedes, where it will spend several months examining the icy giant moon from an ever lower orbit. Below the surface ice sheet of the Ganymedes and Europa moons are oceans of water, in which there can also be conditions for the formation of life. During the mission, these may be examined for the first time in Jupiter's system.
