The Hungarian team finished with sixteen medals at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo, including seven gold, five silver and four bronze medals. With this total, Hungary has moved up to 18th place on the medal table.
On the last day of the Paralympics, the 16th medal was won by kayaker Katalin Varga who finished third in the women's K1 200m race in the KL2 category. This makes her the first Hungarian female Paralympic medallist in this sport.
At the recently-concluded Tokyo Olympics, Hungarians won 20 medals (six gold, seven silver and seven bronze) to take 15th place in the world rankings.
