January 22, 2021

It was 120 years ago, in January 1901 that the representatives of 13 football clubs gathered in Budapest and decided to establish an independent association for the organization of football in Hungary.

A well-known writer-philosopher, Géza Jász was elected as the president of the Hungarian Football Federation (MLSZ), and the first championship was immediately announced.

MLSZ was only the ninth football federation in continental Europe, while outside Europe, during this period there was rarely an official national football federation - in one or two countries.
