Hungary is considering hosting Grand Prix motorcycle (MotoGP) races from 2022 and the government has already taken steps for building a new sports arena that would house the event, news website privatbankar.hu reported, citing Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics. Hungary started talks with the company that owns the MotoGP commercial rights a long time ago and the parties have signed a memorandum of understanding, according to Palkovics, who spoke at European Rally Championship event in the northeastern city of Nyíregyháza. The government needs to make a decision on the location of the race and related measures by February 28, Palkovics said, adding that the Cabinet would discuss a national strategy for car and motorcycle racing in the course of November or in early December.
