Hungary's Katinka Hosszú finished third in the 200-meter individual medley at the European Swimming Championship in Budapest this Saturday, which makes her the most successful female swimmer in the history of European championships.
Despite the fact that this has been the first time that the three times Olympic, nine times world and 15 times European champion swimmer has not win the European 200-meter individual medley event, this bronze was her 24th European championship medal.
That puts her ahead of Sweden's Sarah Sjöström in terms of the number of medals won by a female swimmer at European championships.
