The Budapest Stock Exchange (BSE) has presented its first sustainability report for the year 2022, the stock exchange told MTI on Wednesday.
The stock exchange's market position is also special in terms of its sustainability efforts, as in addition to being an independent economic entity that enforces sustainability aspects in its own operations, it also plays a key role in educating the corporate sector as a platform provider of the domestic capital market, the statement quoted Richárd Végh, CEO of BSE.
The first sustainability report covers both roles. The BSE intends to continue to act as a kind of professional workshop for the domestic capital market, and as a company it can also serve as a good practice example for companies striving to achieve sustainability, he added.
According to the press release, BSE will also detail its sustainability strategy for the period 2023-2025 in its ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) report.
The BSE is helping to spread ESG thinking in Hungary by means of regulatory, educational and market development efforts, and by creating the knowledge, tools and market infrastructure necessary for sustainable operations, thus helping companies to move towards sustainable operations.
