The Budapest Stock Exchange (BSE) has published its second sustainability report, which also presents the company's 2023 environmental, social and governance (ESG) results, the BSE told MTI.
With its annual report, BSE aims to provide direction to capital market participants, it said, explaining the summary of sustainability activities, which it prepares as a voluntary commitment, and on the basis of which it continued last year to provide regulatory support, its education programmes focusing on sustainability issues and the development of market infrastructure. The 2023 sustainability strategy and the website presenting the green issues of the stock market were completed, and the activities of its corporate governance committee were expanded, the BSE said.
Sustainable business practices are now a requirement for the economy as a whole and are having a growing impact on capital market participants worldwide, according to the report, which can be downloaded from the BSE website. The stock exchange's operations do not have a significant impact on the environment, but it can only achieve its sustainability goals by developing its partnerships, which it will continue to strengthen internationally, they added.
