Telecom service providers had revenue of HUF 339 billion in Hungary in the first quarter, with mobile voice and mobile internet services making up 59%, according to a summary published by the Central Statistics Office (KSH).
Revenue from mobile voice and mobile internet services came to HUF 201 billion. Fixed internet services generated revenue of HUF 66 billion, broadcasting services HUF 40 billion, other telecom services HUF 22 billion and fixed voice services HUF 10 billion.
The average duration of mobile calls and landline calls remained unchanged or barely changed at 3.7 minutes and 6.2 minutes, respectively. Around 97% of calls were initiated from mobile networks.
The number of television subscriptions fell 2.0% from a year earlier to 3.4 million.
The number of fixed-line internet subscriptions edged 0.7% higher during the period.
Mobile data traffic increased 20% from a year earlier. Data traffic per one mobile subscription providing internet access averaged 41 Gbytes.
