Hungarian mobile services provider Yettel has recorded a 54% increase in data traffic nationwide and a 35% increase in data traffic around Lake Balaton and Lake Velence, while roaming traffic in Croatia doubled this summer compared to last year, the operator told MTI on Wednesday.
The busiest week of the summer on Yettel Hungary's mobile network at Lake Balaton was again the week of August 20, with 5G technology accounting for 10.5% of total summer data traffic in the region.
Although the number of short text messages this year was down on last year's record summer, it was the second highest domestic traffic in five years, with more than 95 million text messages sent in August alone.
The average length of phone calls has continued to increase this summer, with most billed tariffs now offering unlimited calling options, they said.
