The 39th Formula One Hungarian Grand Prix brought an explosive weekend to the capital, which was also enhanced by the Ed Sheeran concert on July 20. According to the data of the National Tourism Data Supply Center (NTAK), July 19-21. Budapest hosted 38% more foreign visitors and 36% more domestic travelers than last year.
The Hungarian Tourism Agency (MTÜ) announced that the number of nights spent by domestic and international guests exceeded the turnover of the previous year's competition weekend by 25%. According to their data, most people traveled to Budapest from the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands and Poland, and Budapest hotels welcomed almost 85,000 guests.
On July 19-21,
almost 90% of the guests staying in Budapest came from across the country's borders, and the 76,000 international tourists spent a total of 145,000 guest nights in the Hungarian capital.
Around 50% of the guest nights were enjoyed by hotels in the capital, and 39% by private and other accommodations during the Hungarian Grand Prix.
In the settlements closest to the race track, Gödöllő, Mogyoród, Kerepes, Veresegyház, almost five times as many guest nights and almost three times as many guests were realized in the accommodations than in the same period of the week before the race; Most tourists stayed in Mogyoród, with almost 2,000 guest nights during the three days.
