Due to the expected summer increase in airport traffic, the 100E Airport Express will operate more frequently between Deák Ferenc Square and Budapest's Ferenc LisztInternational Airport from Thursday, the Budapest Transport Center (BKK) told MTI on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the BKK is preparing for the increased traffic expected over the four-day weekend, and will therefore operate the bus services with the highest frequency during this period.
From May onwards, buses will depart every 6 minutes from the terminals during the morning and afternoon peak hours on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays, and every 6-7 minutes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, instead of the previous 7-8 minutes. On Saturdays, departures will be every 6-7 minutes in the morning and every 7-8 minutes in the afternoon, the company said.
The bus service is always adjusted to the airport's major traffic direction, with more frequent departures towards the airport in the early part of the day and towards the city center in the late evening.
