Budapest Airport, the management company of the Hungarian capital’s Ferenc Liszt International Airport, scored a huge success at the Routes Europe Marketing Awards in Aarhus, Denmark.
According to a statement released by the company, not only did it win the Best Airline Marketing Award in the category of airports with 5-20 million passengers, but it also took home the title of overall winner of the event. The jury praised the company’s airline marketing strategy, which included innovative and creative social media solutions to promote Budapest to millions of travelers worldwide, creating a favorable position for airline partners. BUD handled 14.7 million passengers in 2023, marking a 91% recovery of pre-COVID traffic levels. Non-stop scheduled capacity expanded by over 30% to key global markets, including China, the Middle East and North Africa.
