Dutch-owned logistics service provider Raben Trans European Hungary Ltd. has opened two new warehouses with a total area of about 40,000 square meters in Pécs and Dunaharaszti, the company informed the Hungarian state news agency MTI.
The Dunaharaszti-based company, which with the new developments now has a warehouse capacity of 70,000 square metres at five sites, said in a statement that the new investments have created almost 100 new jobs, so Raben Ltd. currently employs 410 people in Hungary.
According to the statement, a new logistics center of about 30,000 square meters in Dunaharaszti and more than 10,000 square metres in Pécs has started operations. The Dunaharaszti facility is ideal for companies producing and distributing food products due to its temperature-controlled environment, while the Pécs centre is also suitable for the storage and handling of excise goods thanks to its tax and customs warehouse licences, it said.
Csaba Árvai, managing director of the company, stressed in the statement that they also want to strengthen their market position by expanding their portfolio.
In response to MTI's enquiries, the company said that in addition to filling the free capacities of the new warehouses, the company's plans for next year include the handover and commissioning of a new 3,000 square metre logistics facility in Győr, which will also result in an additional 15-20 staff increase.
The Raben Group is a major player in both palletised groupage and warehouse logistics in Europe, where it operates in 14 countries. It has more than 160 sites, operates around 1.3 million square meters of warehousing space and dispatches more than 9,000 trucks a day.
According to the company, Raben Ltd. reported a net profit after tax of HUF 206 million in 2020 on net sales of HUF 9.7 billion, compared to HUF 8.6 billion in 2020 on a loss of HUF 93 million.
