There is a new high temperature record measured on February 21 in Hungary, the country’s National Meteorological Service said on its social networking site this Tuesday.
The new record for this day, 20.6 degrees Celsius recorded in Bata, Tolna County, in the south of the country was 0.7 degrees Celsius above the 19.9 degrees Celsius recorded in nearby Homokszentgyörgy on this day in 1966.
As the National Meteorological Service writes, the weather was unusually warm, with temperatures generally rising between 14 and 20 degrees Celsius on Tuesday afternoon due to the abundance of sunshine, the mild, warm air mass filling the Carpathian Basin and the strong, brisk winds.
