Tasting the whole menu with corresponding wines – that is what the Symbol restaurant in Budapest offers to its guests. The 44-course menu is based on a book describing what wine producers cook for themselves.
Gábriel Õszy-Tóth and his wife, Ibolya Balla visited close to 170 wine cellars in one and a half years, tasting about 700 different wines. In their book ‘That is how wine-makers cook”, they describe the gastronomical experience of 81 renowned wine-makers. The author’s aim is to popularize the consumption of Hungarian wines, Hungarian wine-makers and Hungarian gastro-culture.
The Wine and Tasting Festival on May 6 is not only for those who – as experts – are already dedicated to wine culture but also calls those people who could be interested in Hungarian gastro-culture and Hungarian wines. Guests are also entertained by the Vivat Bacchus choir, and the Winemakers Choir.
The entire menu and wine list of the Festival can be found at the web site www.igyfoznek.hu.
