The Heineken Balaton Sound Festival at a fancy beach on the southern shore of Lake Balaton set a new record this year, as it registered more than 100,000 guests, according to main organiser Norbert Löbenwein.

On the back of the good news on attendance and mostly thanks to the stocks technical characteristics, shares prices of the organizing company Est Media rose 13.4% on the Budapest Stock Exchange (BSE).

David Guetta was a strong enough magnet on the last (fourth) day of the lakeside event to attract 27,500 partygoers, which followed 27,000 on the first, 22,000 on the second and 25,000 on the third day (daily tickets and four-day passes together).

With this, Balaton Sound recorded 101,500 visitors, a new record after 92,000 registered last year.

Most of the revellers were college and university students in the age group of over 18, slightly more than 10% of who were from outside the borders, mostly from Italy, France and the Netherlands.
