Opera ball a la Shakespeare in Budapest

World-renowned Spanish tenor Placido Domingo was the star guest of the Budapest Opera Ball held this Saturday in Budapest. The theme of the event this year was Shakespeare on the 400th anniversary of the death of the English playwright.

Although, the now 75-year-old Placido Domingo was a frequest guest in Budapest early in his career, his last performance in the Hungarian capital was 30 years ago. Also, the occasion this Saturday was the first time that he sang on the stage of the Hungarian Opera House.
