Bulgarian President, Rosen Plevneliev, arrived on an official visit to Hungary Tuesday. He was received in Budapest by his Hungarian counterpart János Áder. Topics discussed included Bulgaria's intention to join the Schengen zone as well as energy issues.
János Áder assured the Bulgarian President that Hungary supports Bulgaria’s membership but it is blocked by other EU members. The two politicians stressed that both Hungary and Bulgaria are committed to the Nabucco and Southern Stream gas pipelines as means of diversifying gas supply to Europe.
Rosen Plevneliev will also visit the Bulgarian School in Budapest and will meet with representatives of the Bulgarian community in Hungary.
