Paralympics: successful Hungarian performance

Hungarian athletes won two gold, six silver and six bronze medals at the Paralympic Games in London. With this medal count, the 33-member delegation produced Hungary’s fourth most successful participation in Paralympic history. The most successful Hungarian performer in Londodn was swimmer Tamás Sors with one gold, one silver and one bronze medals.

PARALYMPICS 2012, HUNGARIANS ON THE PODIUM:

Gold: Tamás Sors – men’s 100-meter butterfly swimming; Péter Pálos – men’s table tennis.

Silver: Tamás Sors – men’s 400-meter freestyle swimming, Gyöngyi Dani – women’s foil fencing; Tamás Tóth – men’s 50-meter and 100-meter freestyle swimming, Zsuzsa Krajnyák – women’s epée fencing; Gyöngyi Dani, Veronika Juhász and Zsuzsa Krajnyák – women’s epée fencing team.

Bronze: Nikolett Szabó, women’s judo; Zsuzsa Krajnyák – women’s foil fencing; Richárd Osváth – men’s foil fencing; Ilona Biacsi – women’s 1,500 m running; Zsolt Vereczkei – men’s 50-meter backstroke swimming; Tamás Sors – men’s 100-meter freestyle swimming.
