Hungarian-Turkish relations have strong roots dating back several decades and have a promising future as well, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said at a Turkish-Hungarian business forum organized in the Turkish capital, Ankara.

The Hungarian PM encouraged Turkish businesspeople to come and invest in Hungary and to foster the traditional friendship between the two countries.

At the forum, he reconfirmed that the agreements signed during his official visit have eased visa applications for Turkish businesspeople, adding that the Hungarian Government insists that Turkish citizens should be granted visa-free access to the European Union.

The Prime Minister emphasized that, geographically, Hungary plays an important role in East-West trade and forms part of central Europe, a region that - in his view - will soon become the engine of growth for the European economy.
