Hungarian footballer Krisztián Németh was named as Sporting Kansas City's best newcomer this season as the American soccer club presented its annual awards. The 26-year-old Hungarian international was honored based on votes from fans, journalists and coaches.
According to the club's website, Németh has contributed 15 goals, including the game-tying goal in the U.S. Open Cup Final, to go along with seven assists in 29 games played across all competitions in 2015 to earn distinction as the team’s Newcomer of the Year. His 22 combined goals and assists are the most by a Kansas City newcomer since the team’s inaugural 1996 season.
As the latest development, Krisztián Németh scored two goals at Hungary's last European championship qualifying game in Athens this Sunday - a match the Hungarian national team lost 3-4 to hosts Greece.
