17-year-old Hungarian chess hopeful Benjámin Gledura defeated former five-time world champion, but still active competitor, Viswanathan Anand at the 2016 Gibraltar Chess Festival, Europe's largest open chess event that anyone can enter.

Gledura, an international chess master, has 2515 Élõ points, played bravely against his much higher rated Indian opponent (2784 Élõ points) to score a well-deserved win over Anand who is 8th in the world rankings.

Experts calculate that Gledura has a good chance to reach the rank of international grand master at this tournament.
