Biolab Plc. to Move Towards Robot-Driven Manufacturing

Biolab Diagnostic Laboratory Plc. was awarded HUF 502.48 million in EU grant in October under the Széchenyi Plan Plus program, which will help it move towards robot-driven manufacturing, the company told the state news agency MTI.

The whole investment that will cost more than HUF one billion will see the construction of a production hall, the purchase of machinery and the installation of a solar power plant at the Pomáz site, the company said.

In order to increase the production capacity and efficiency of single-use plastic devices, a robotic Petri dish production unit and a high-performance automated packaging machine will be acquired.

A new industrial hall will be built for the sorting and packaging department, increasing the warehouse space.

The project will also include the construction of premises for the employment of disabled people.        

Biolab Diagnostic Laboratory Ltd. was founded in 1991 as the first privately owned company on the Hungarian microbiology market. The company's main profile is the production and trade of microbiological media and microbiological plastic devices, and its customers can now choose from more than 500 different products.

According to publicly available company data, they employed 24 people in FY 2020.

The company had annual net sales of HUF 2.3 billion in 2020 and HUF 2.5 billion in 2021. Net profit was HUF 544 million in 2020 and HUF 438 million in 2021.
