Tesco joined the Advent fundraising campaign of the Hungarian Interchurch Aid organization for the thirteenth time, raising more than HUF 57 million for the benefit of the needy, which the supermarket chain then supplemented with HUF 60 million, and this year, it will support the aid organization with another HUF 10 million.
According to a statement sent to MTI , customers bought a total of 226,853 donation coupons in the chain's stores between November 14 and December 24, 2022. The initiative was supported by Olympic champion boxer and Goodwill Ambassador of the Hungarian Interchurch Aid, István Kovács Kokó, Olympic champion swimmer Dániel Gyurta and singer Kati Wolf.
Tesco says it regularly supports the organization’s Kapaszkodó [Catch Up] program, among other things, and as a strategic partner, Tesco recently raised its cooperation with the HIA to a new level by providing immediate joint assistance to refugees in Ukraine, which is why it decided to contribute HUF 10 million to the organization’s Continuation Fund this year.
