The reconstruction of two swimming pools has started, the solarium park of the spa will be expanded and other renovations are also planned, the mayor of the town of Gyula, Dr. Ernő Görgényi said.
Two pools will be partially rebuilt, and the night-time bathing experience will be made special by lighting fixtures in the water area.
The mayor said that by the start of the summer season, the water block and the healthcare building, which are at their highest capacity, will be demolished next to the children's paradise and replaced by a new, lightweight, high-quality building.
The existing 50 kW solar farm will be expanded to 500 kW, which will be installed on the main building and on the roof of the Aqua Palace. The system will cover 16-17% of the facility's electricity consumption. The aim is to have production up and running by the start of the summer season. Two thermal wells will also be renovated.
Preparations have started for the installation of an automatic irrigation system to improve the quality of the lawns in the park of the Gyula Castle Baths. The park's trees, which have dried out and had to be felled for safety reasons, are being replaced. Special tree species selected for new plantings will enhance the beauty, attractiveness and botanical value of the park.
These improvements will be financed by the Gyulai Castle Baths from its own resources, the mayor said.
