JYSK has opened its third new store in Hungary - in Körmend in the western part of the country - in the 2024/2025 financial year, following stores in Debrecen, and Ózd, the exonomx.hu portal writes.
JYSK is celebrating its 20th anniversary in Hungary this September, and on August 27, the chain's newest Hungarian store opened on Rákóczi út in Körmend. With the new unit, the company now has 101 stores in Hungary.
The opening of the new store reflects the company's commitment to continuous development and strengthening its presence in rural areas. In addition to the new openings, older stores are also being continuously renovated in line with JYSK's new sustainability and efficiency concept.
"As JYSK celebrates its 20th anniversary in Hungary this year, it is extremely important for us to make the products needed to create an affordable yet stylish home easily accessible to as many people as possible. With the opening of the new store, we are not only expanding our presence in the country, but also getting closer to our customers so that we can better meet their needs. We plan to open two more stores by the end of 2025 to ensure even more complete national coverage, said Sándor Szimeiszter, Country Manager for JYSK Hungary, Austria, and Greece, at the store opening.
JYSK places a strong emphasis on sustainability and energy efficiency in the design of its new stores and the modernization of its existing stores. As part of the so-called 3.0 store concept, they use a lighting system that can be switched on in three separate stages. Thanks to this solution, the energy consumption required for lighting the stores can be reduced by at least 25% (100,000 kWh/year). Efficiency is further increased by the complete switch to LED lighting and the motion sensor system that is being installed.
The concept not only affects energy consumption, but also the design and furnishings of the stores. The new 1,000-square-meter store in Körmend has three showrooms, which make it easier to find your way around the furniture. In addition, the store also has a separate mattress studio where customers can try out the products and get expert help from staff. The new store will also offer a wide selection of decorative and interior design accessories, with the range tailored to seasonal customer needs.
