Retailer Spar Hungary has modernized three more stores, spending a total of nearly HUF 1.7 billion on renovating its stores in the towns of Kőszeg, Esztergom and Törökszentmiklós, the company told MTI on Thursday.
The Kőszeg store was renovated with an investment of approximately HUF 640 million and provides employment for 20 people. HUF 471.5 million was spent on modernizing the Esztergom supermarket, which also means the preservation of 18 jobs. The store in Törökszentmiklós was modernized with an investment of HUF 550.4 million, and the store employs 14 people.
Spar Hungary intends to remain an active player in the domestic retail market in the future, continuing to build its nationwide network with modern and sustainable stores, the company said.
Spar Hungary achieved gross sales of nearly HUF 1,112 billion in 2024, which is 4.8% more than in the previous year. At the end of last year, the Spar network comprised 652 stores of various formats, with more than 17,000 employees.
